Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile

Duties of the

President

The President is essentially the "Chairman of the Board", hence he has a significant influence on the direction and management of the club during his tenure. The President presides at all club meetings and BOD meetings and is our primary representative in respect of District and Rotary International matters.

While the term "President" is generally understood, the following is a list of key responsibilities for Rotary Club Presidents (in no particular order):

1) Ensure that the club fully complies with all applicable laws of the HKSAR Government;

2) Ensure that Rotary International rules and the Club Constitution and Bye-Laws are observed at all times;

3) Regularly remind members to observe the primary Rotary International motto "Service Above Self" and ensure they understand it's meaning;

4) Regularly remind members of the current Rotary International Presidential Theme;

5) Ensure each member of his BOD is conducting their duties correctly and in a timely manner, particularly in respect of the Club Secretary, the Club Treasurer and those Directors responsible for Club Service activities;

6) Ensure that the club continually remains current with it's financial obligations to the District and to Rotary International;

7) Ensure that all members are provided with Rotary Information on a regular basis;

8) Ensure that the Election of Officers is conducted in an orderly and transparent manner;

9) Ensure that the club General Fund and Community Service Fund are operated and maintained properly;

10) Ensure that the image projected by the club and it's officers is commensurate with the ideals desired by Rotary International.
