Duties of the
International Service Director
|
The International Service Director of our club has three key functions: The first is overall club responsibility for the duties of the Rotary Foundation Director who, in turn, is our primary contact with the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, and the driving force in our ongoing efforts to encourage club members to become Paul Harris Fellows. It is therefore essential for the International Service Director to guide and fully support the efforts of the Rotary Foundation Director in the execution of his duties. The second is overall club responsibility for other international programs of Rotary International, such as World Community Service, Disaster Relief, Matching (and other humanitarian) Grants, Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholarships, Peace Programs, Polioplus etc. This means that the International Service Director will personally review all international requests for assistance received by the club, and make his recommendations to the President and BOD. It also means he is our club coordinator and host in respect of visits made to our club by members of Group Study Exchange teams and Ambassadorial Scholars. The third is overall club responsibility for maintaining contact with our sister clubs in other Rotary International districts. Accordingly, he is the primary host and coordinator in respect of visits made to our club by any representatives from our sister clubs and the International Service Director should endeavour to organise reciprocal visits to our sister clubs by our club members. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
