Yes folks, it's once again time for the annual KGM Xmas

club meeting on Wednesday 22 December
2004.
KGM members are invited to bring their children,
parents, grandparents, friends, business associates, domestic
helpers, secretaries, pets and other house-trained creatures to the
party, which is invariably a time of fun, fellowship and good cheer
(i.e. gallons of eggnog spiked with rum).
However if you plan on bringing a child (other than the
one you married), please contact Fellowship
Director "Lady" Diana Yeung on telephone 9197 8615, as she
would like to prepare a small gift for them.
Community Service News: The St James' Settlement, a regular
beneficiary of KGM community service support, has invited KGM members to

The event attracted over 400 participants, who enjoyed
a variety of singing & creative dancing competitions, and the event
served to bring together disabled and able-bodied persons in a spirit
of fellowship and camaraderie.

As usual, three different types of walks will be
offered, and these range from a leisurely 90 minute stroll, to a grueling
"Mount Kilimanjaro" trek, which will take a month of Sundays and involve
industrial strength aches, pains and paramedics.
Members interested in participating in the
event should contact PP Louis

members are urged to support the walkers in their stellar efforts to raise
funds for our Community Service work.

Rotary Information: The Annual District Assembly: In view of the annual turnover of Rotary leadership each year, special effort is required to provide the more than 31,000 club leaders with appropriate instruction for the tasks they will assume. The annual district assembly is a training event for incoming club officers. The
district assembly offers motivation, inspiration, Rotary information, and
new ideas for club officers, directors and key committee chairmen of each
club. Some of the most experienced district leaders conduct informative
discussions on all phases of Rotary administration and service projects.
The assembly gives participants valuable new ideas to make their club more
effective and interesting. Usually 8 to 10 delegates from each club are
invited to attend the training session.
Another important feature of a district assembly is a review by the
incoming district governor of the theme and emphasis of the new RI
president for the coming year. District goals and objects are also
described, and plans are developed for their
implementation.
The
success of each Rotary club is frequently determined by the club's
representation and participation in the annual district
assembly.

Golden Smile: The dirty old men out there (i.e. all KGM male members)
will probably enjoy the Virtual Bartender website, where you can
type simple words into the box and the virtual bartender will comply. Fun
words include "kiss", "twirl", "pitcher", "wet", "naked", "fight",
"guitar", "pillow", "cowgirl", "cartwheel", "workout", "karate", "tickle",
"strip" and "butt" (but do not order "nuts" to go with your
beer!!).
